I usually save 250dpi on a 9"x9" canvas on paint.NET if that helps at all, although spreadshirt usually has it listed as a much bigger design than that for some reason. I've already checked inkscape's FAQs and I'd imagine that would be a fairly standard question that should be there, but it's not. I guess what I'm asking here is: what would be the easiest/cheapest way for me to change the PNG-saved files I have into vector ones? And would anybody know of someplace I could find a simple tutorial on inkscape so that I could start just using that from start to finish if that would be easier for future designs? (My main issue was being able to have a transparent background which is why I went w/ paint.NET. Other than transferring the designs that I've already saved from PNG files -> vector files (to be able to change colors for the text included in my designs mostly), paint.NET seems to handle everything I need just fine.

I'm just starting out and was looking for some good software when I found and downloaded inkscape but found it to be WAY more complicated than what I needed. This is pretty much the same situation I'm in right now too.
